Placing an order - what you can expect

Orders can be received via post, e-mail, telephone or fax. Should a quotation result in an order our sales engineers continue to be heavily involved with you. They are responsible for booking your order into our order and production programmes and initiating an appropriate acknowledgment to yourselves. They also liaise directly with the shopfloor staff responsible for supervising all of our production. Our sales engineers work with and are directly supervised by the senior management Nick Moriarty, Managing and Technical Director and Sean Moriarty, Commercial Director. The company benefits from this tight compact structure that enables close control of all aspects of production, test and despatch. It is a team operation and the lead personnel work with each other on a daily basis.

All instrument transformers are manufactured at our factory in Colchester. We do not subcontract any work. We do not import transformers from low labour cost countries to sell on.

A large range of stock sizes of core material means that the majority of instrument transformers can be manufactured directly from stock materials regardless of the fact they are often of a bespoke design. This often means that the company can offer very short lead times for orders, although this may attract a premium service surcharge.

Your order will progress through core preparation, winding, assembly and finishing off under the supervision of our team of shopfloor supervisors all of whom have many years of experience of working on our shopfloor. Where appropriate, preliminary testing during production will be carried out by our dedicated Test Department.

On completion of production each and every instrument transformer is individually tested by our Test Department to ensure that it complies with the British, European or other International standard to which it has been specified as well as ensuring the product meets any other particular requirements of your order. Certificates of Test will be supplied free of charge if requested. Recorded test results will attract an additional charge as advised on quotations and if required, will need to be specified on your order.

On completion of testing, your transformers will be passed directly to our packing area for shipment as agreed. Most orders within the UK will be despatched via DPD on a next day service unless size/quantity of the transformers means that a pallet network service is more appropriate. Any delivery charges will either be stated on the original quotation or agreed prior to despatch.
